This inaugural ADL-UB Learning Exchange 2025 is a way of celebrating the partnership between the United Board and GBSEALD by bringing together the 200+ participants. It will be a time to share and learn about how the ADL principles have been contextualized and implemented in your respective contexts, and to reflect on the challenges and opportunities of continuing to apply them at present and in the future. In an age of disruption, how does designing for Content, Coach and Community remain vital for effective online and blended learning?

The Gokongwei Brothers School of Education and Learning Design (GBSEALD) constitutes Ateneo de Manila’s strategic response to the challenges of Philippine education and enables the University to address these more effectively.
Established in 2021, GBSEALD traces its origin in the Escuela Normal de Maestros established by the Jesuits in Intramuros, Manila in 1865, the very first teacher education institute in the Philippines. The school emerged after almost three years of extensive research and consultation among stakeholders within the university, as well as other potential educational partners
The Institute for the Science & Art of Learning & Teaching (Ateneo SALT Institute) aims to contribute to GBSEALD’s Vision of promoting innovative practices and meaningful use of education technology that will contribute to education reform. SALT works on the following flagship projects:
Adaptive Design for Learning—A professional certificate course on adaptive design and delivery of online and blended learning. This course has been taken by over 3,000 educators from Asia.
AteneoBlueCloud—The SALT Institute led the transition of the Ateneo de Manila University to Online Learning in 2020.
Professional Development Workshops—Customized workshops on learning design, engagement, and education technology.
Digital University—As part of the digital university project, the SALT Institute is currently piloting the design and development of courses that will be offered in a fully online modality.
